About Us
The Westside School Road congregation was established in 1961when the elders
of the Simpson Street Church of Christ in Atlanta, GA, purchased land in
Newnan, GA. Homer Green, one of the elders at the Simpson Street
congregation, served as the first evangelist there. He served in that
capacity for a number of years.
Following Homer Green, Charlie Minton served as the minister for numerous
years. Following Charlie Minton, Havis Johnson served as minister for nearly
17 years until October 2003.
In October 2003, W. Rush Wyatt began serving as the evangelist for the
congregation, and continues in that capacity at this present time. In 2004,
through preaching the Gospel and individuals obedience to the biblical plan
of salvation, 21 souls have been added to the number though baptism. Since
January 2005, there have been five baptisms and nine members from other
areas place their membership with the Westside School Road family.
